Our World is at crossroads. One side is deeply dark and pessimistic; the other side is equally bright and optimistic.

Global economic crisis, diminishing natural resources, environmental problems, climactic changes, terrorism and war threats, declining trust in the United Nations, World Bank, IMF – the powerful institutions of the near past, all these factors have the power to shake and change the lives of humanity deeply. These are the facts lying on the dark side of the crossroads.

On the bright side however, lies the unbelievable progress we are facing in science and technology, enabling us to see the future optimistically. Explorations, inventions, innovations and new product design transform the capabilities of science and technology for the good of mankind. This has never been so dense and successful in any period of history before.

In the times of contradictions, threats and hopes, it is the mankind who will decide on the course of the World. As some say; depending on the way the game will be played, the century we live in may be the best ever in terms of prosperity, productivity, peace and success or else it may be the end of everything.

In this case; what should the World choose to keep or leave behind or change in this new journey? In short, what are sustainable, what are not?

The need for new ideas, evaluations and shaping the future has never ever been so vital.
